Final Days
This week is Thanksgiving week, and when there is a national holiday there is bowned to be some prof.s that will assign a test. Do they really think that we are going to be studying with relatives over once a year. I honestly dont understand how some of them think about things. I have two test the week we come back from Thanksgiving break, and after that I have finals to think about. I mind is spinning with all my classes!!! :(
Well this semester has gone by really fast, and looks like the holidays are rolling in. Last friday I got to see one of the best books movie "twilight". I really enjoyed reading the book, but I kinda did not like how they edited the movie. You could clearly tell that it was a low budgeted movie. Anywho, the first two books where really amazing, but did not really like the ending of the last one. I thought there needed to be more of a wow effect.

I just finished making my CV for biological writing, and have discovered that I have not gotten involved with not much student oganizations. I guess if you count all the hours that im in the research lab you will where most of my time goes. Its interesting to see all the programs in, when I first started here at UTPA. Many of them i am no longer, to advancing to a higher position. Well this is today's blog!!!!!!!!!

Leann's Project
This week went by really fast. There was alot to do in the lab. This week my sister began her project with some of the infected snails for her science fair project. Her project is based on the theroy that micro infected snails are more likely to move toward the shore. This comes from the conclusion that micro infect crabs found on shore. She ended up painting the snails to distungish which where hers.

Long Time
Wow it has been a long time since I have blogged. What has happened? Well one thing that was new this week was Assignment 10. A question that was unanswered. Some people were having trouble with this assignment, and asked what was I going to based my assignment on. I just said " well my REU project question". I really liked this project , it was short and got to the point. I have promised myself that I was going to keep up with this. Lets see how long it takes me to break that promise.

This Week
Well this week is pretty laid back for me. I dont have an exam during the week, just assignments from my diffrent classes. Finally I get a week that I dont have to stress about a class. The class that requires me to do many assignments is bio writing. Which is our weekly assignment and the blogging that needs to be almost everyday.

Last Week 2
Last week during journal club there was an interesting article on double blinding. If you are not familiar with double blind, it a technique that many researchers use to prove that what they are working on in accurate. It a procedure to cover any speculation on making up your "fansity" results. Anyway it was an awesome talk, and many of the professor shared there on thoughts about the subject. Overall a great talk!!
Last Week
WOW it has been a crazy long time that I have not written in my blog. Well i guess I will start from last week. To catch you up on my crazy life!! Like every week this semester it seems that I have an exam scheduled. Which is really annoying considering that I hate focusing on one class every week, to prepare for the exam. Well i guess that is how life is. For everything that is happening right now, I feel that there is a deadline for everything. (Another thing that is annoying)On top of everything else I have to figure out where dove street is, by tuesday.

HESTEC
For the assignment that was given to us for bio writing, for that assignment I based it on Dr. Therrian. He was an excellent choice to have been brought during Hestec week. He spoke about his career that he is currently in, and about recent developments. I then was granted an interview with him, and asked him who was the one person that has inspired him to be where he is today. He then responded by saying his mentor during his graduate studies. Overall, he was an excellent speaker!!!

Well last week seemed like it ended rather quickly. I finished both of my abstracts that were due that week. I have began to learn read about the presidential candidates, and their position if they are elected. I know there will be a group of women and men that will vote for Sarah Palin, just because she is a women. I on the other hand will not base my vote on that, my vote will be based on what each candidate plans to do with the education issue. Another issue that I will be looking at is the ways they plan to get up out of this recession.

Hurricane Dolly Project is over
I just finished my project in Dr. Fredensborg lab, and now have a complete understanding to as why there is the phase " Do not procrastinate". Getting the results to my project was not the hard part of my project, it was trying to combine all results together and trying to find a difference. That was the hard part. This project was started late in the summer and took us a while to finish, but sometimes in science it takes a while to get your results. I am so glad that is over, and now I get to start my next project, my killifish!!!! I am totally exicited to start my work on this fish and see the similarities and differences in projects that have been done all over the United States.

Biology Journal Club
I went to the Biology Journal Club last friday, it was interesting to hear many professors saying their opinions about the paper that was assigned. We all said our opinions on what the next step would be for this particular experiment. I think it there where a total of 4-6 students that max, and almost the entire biology dept. It was extremely informative !!! Cant wait for friday
